Service Description

Gundog Foundation 4-Week Course at The Old House Farm Welcome to our Gundog Foundation Course—a tailored 4-week program designed for young gundogs and their owners. Join us at The Old House Farm in a secure 3-acre paddock for a series of 2-hour group training sessions, ideal for puppies/dogs of all gundog breeds (pet gundogs welcome). Details: Location: The Old House Farm, Secure 3-Acre Paddock Duration: 4 Weeks Friday 12th April Friday 19th April Friday 26th April NO SESSION ON 3RD MAY Friday 10th May Sessions: 4 x 2-hour group training sessions Cost: £160 per handler (Please note that there will not be a class on Friday 3rd May as I'm away). Who Can Attend: Puppies/dogs of all gundog breeds are welcome, approximately 6/8 months of age or older, with an interest in retrieving and a reliable recall. Dogs should be accustomed to training in a small group environment, under control, and exhibit no excessive barking. Pet gundogs are very welcome. Course Highlights: This course offers a unique opportunity to build a special bond with your dog while engaging in activities they enjoy and are bred for. Ideal for those planning to work their dogs in the field, preparing for future working tests, or refining gundog foundation skills or to teach you and your dog skills to enjoy their walks with you We will be working towards the following areas: Focus Heel work Recall Handling Steadiness Hunting Delivery Stop whistle Obstacles Retrieves Additional Information: Equipment: If you have a dummy and whistle, please bring them. Don't worry if you don't; we have some for you to borrow or purchase. Refund Policy: Once booked, no refund can be given for the course or any missed sessions unless accompanied by a vet's letter. Health and Attendance: No dogs in season or showing signs of kennel cough can attend. Dogs should ideally be accustomed to training in a group environment. Meeting Point: We meet at the front of my house in the gravel drive 10 minutes before the session. Class Suitability: Not suitable for reactive dogs or those unaccustomed to training in a group environment. It is advisable that all dogs have attended a puppy group or upper puppy group to gain the necessary foundations. Training Approach: All methods are through positive reinforcement.
