- West Wycombe Estate
Gundog group training session for up to 8 novice handlers at West Wycombe Estate (for all gundog breeds). Please note that this is NOT a group for complete beginners and is for working dogs who have good recall, keen to retrieve, have heard shot before and participated in either my or other gundog groups before. Also suitable for younger dogs who are going to be competing in Puppy or Special Puppy Working Tests, who should be at least 1 year of age. We will meet at Kitty's Lodge 15 mins before the session starts (High Street, West Wycombe, High Wycombe, HP14 3AA). There is a large white wooden electric gate and I will let you in. Please do not block the entrances and do not park on the grass. 10am to approx 2.30pm During the day we will be working on the following: Heel work, recall, handling (lining up and directional), delivery to hand, the stop whistle, marked and bind retrieves (in parkland, woodland and water if not too cold). £70 per handler For novice classes dogs should sit/stay when asked, recall with reasonable consistency, show an interest in hunting and be a reasonable retriever of undemanding retrieves. If you are worried about your dog's recall you will need to use a long line. There are sheep and lots of wildlife on the estate. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unsure if your dog is at this stage - if not, I have a beginner foundation gundog training group at my home near Princes Risborough. Spaces will be sold on a first come first served basis and once booked on, no refund can be given. Participation in Jennifer Thomas Dog Training activities is entirely at the risk of the participant. Neither Jennifer Thomas or its individual instructors or helpers, nor the owners or landlords of our training venues or estates accept any responsibilities, whatsoever, for any injuries or losses sustained. Handlers and/or owners remain responsible for their dogs and equipment at all times and are advised to ensure they have adequate pet or household insurance cover for liability in the unlikely event of damage or injury caused by their dog to property or to a third party of another dog. * Photos might be taken during the day for use on my website or social media.
